One Tear Follows

one tear then another
each accepting the one above
until the heaviness is too much to bear
and they begin their flow

with each tear comes a memory
of a time of smiling eyes
laughing lines
and sensations uncontrolled

a beginning to an end
an end to a beginning
the mind swirls searching
for that right mix
a balance of thoughts
to bring back those smiles
to bring back your taste
to bring back the feel of you

lips drying up from lack of your kisses
eyes closing to all dreams never seen
mind emptying of wants that never realize
body forgetting the ache that once was

one tear then another
each accepting the one above
until the heaviness is too much to bear
and they continue their flow....

Very well done!! I don't cry often, hate to cry, usually can't stop the flow of tears once it starts, the flood gates open....I enjoyed this poem alot.

MMoonchild ,

Boy-O-Boy, I can feel your tears. A good way to express yourself, and document your emotional state.

Maureen, I know how those tears can join together to make a river. Beautifully expressed. Take care.

Maurine...simply beautiful.  The poem, like your tears, flows into the river of my consciousness.  Hardrock

Wow, people hammer me for painful poetry!  I see someone shares in my experiences too!  This is great work!  Though there is no set rhythm, this one hit home for me.  Thank you for writing what I felt!

no problem with the nickname and I will tell you why ..I am called Renee by my friends and family (renee as in reenie) my grandfather use to call me Maureenie and that is how I got the nickname..others on  the net call me Maur (mostly Aussies)just  don't call me Mo  ...thank you for liking my work..I am just getting use to all the poets here and right now I am still spreading myself out  to try and respond to  a large variety but I am reading all..

...you get hammered??  ..oh my what is poetry if it isn't feelings, negative, positive and inbetween...there was no pattern to this as I  had this happen yesterday and I let the tears and the words both flow...
