I'm building things,
in which you don't believe.
Castles in the air,
floating on heart songs,
that remain unsung.
My hands molding statues,
of me's that will not be.
Sculptures of my dreams,
undreamt and dismissed,
in fear of your laughter.
I'm building fantasies,
on hopes and wishes,
solidly set on sandy dune,
waiting for onslaught of tide.
Vision's denial to give ground,
to today's battle for purchase.
Fantasy's strength shall outlive,
reality's blustery strike.

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.

Lovely -- JP
I have always built my castles on
sand --that way when no one believes
they won't see the castle sink

I can relate to this extremely well. Beautiful writing, my friend!

A nice variation of the wishing dreams came true theme. Well done JP

I just tried to edit this one and was told that editing is only allowed for 24 hours after original posting... is this a new feature?

Continue to build and to dream. a wonderful poem.
