Voices of the Web

Voices of the web are singing silent lullabies
Words unheard by any ear, sung only to the eyes
Messages and songs of life exuding voicelessly
From wondrous music for the mind in lines of poetry

They fill our eyes with pleasure words, our minds with thoughts untold
As visions of a dream of love, or truth of life unfold
And every word cast to the eye is like a melody
That fills the heart with joy, or makes a tear stream endlessly

And who are voices of the web? They are the ones with dreams
They write what’s truly in their hearts or merely what it seems
They scroll the words that represent an essence without shame
Then stamp each verse with signature they call a poet name

No matter what the verse has sung, or what the voice conveys
A certain ambiguity is heard in many ways
For poetry’s an illusion that makes us want for more
And begs the eyes discover meaning deep within the core

It fills the mind with images of what it wants to see
It comes from someone’s heart but seems a part of you and me
But the secret of the voice is how the  words are somehow strung
Into powdery phrases so alluring that they should be sung

Elusive thought, elusive dreams, the tides of flow and ebb
Scrolled into magic poetry by voices of the web

If this doesn't make it to the first page of the book, then something has gone tragically wrong.  It's so perfect as an introduction poem.....

I like this very much Elizabeth. Some of the wonderful lines you put together make me smile with pleasure and that's the reason I return to read the fine works of the poets at Passions.

"For poetry's an illusion that makes us want for more
and begs the eyes discover meaning deep within the core."  I smiled.

"Into powdery phrases so alluring that they should be sung."  I smiled.

Elusive thoughts, elusive dreams, the tides of flow and ebb
scrolled into magic poetry by voices on the web."  and I smiled and I smiled and I had good time......ethome..
