It was just a tiny diner
On a lonely, one-way street.
Not much in the way of finery
Another place to eat.

Perhaps a cup of soup or pie or such
From menus on the wall,
An iced tea if you're dry but not much
Anything else at all.

I saw her in the corner
From the corner of my eye
And felt like Jackie Horner
With his finger in the pie.

Her beauty set aside my hunger;
She was perfect to a fault
And I felt twenty-five years younger
As my heart turned somersaults.

Her features were magnificent!
I really do believe
A face like that was heaven sent.
Then she got up to leave.

I knew that I just had to have her
As I watched her graceful stride
And, with what courage I could gather,
Turned and followed her outside.

I guess she knew that I would follow.
She was waiting in the street
And my throat grew dry and hollow
Both my knees, spaghetti weak.

She said she felt the same attraction
That I felt but, to my sorrow,
Said if I would like some action,
It would have to be tomorrow.

She took a pencil from a pocket
And wrote something on a card,
Then sent me shooting like a rocket
As she reached and kissed me, hard.

What can I say about that kiss she gave?
I moaned with ecstacy
And I was fighting not to misbehave
As she was pressed to me.

Her lips were so deliciously devine
We could have kissed til dawn,
Then whispered, "Call me when you have the time.",
Turned, and she was gone.

It seemed I stood there an eternity.
I felt so rooster proud.
I took the card she handed me
And read her name aloud.

I loved her! I admired her! I adored her!...
Now I HATE her!
The card she gave read, MARILYN -
FEMALE IMPERSONATOR!!
