In the winds of Cherokee song

This is a repost from Passions in Prose as I have received many e-mails stating that for some unknown reason they are not able to post replies without getting kick off line.  So upon request I am putting it here.  It is somewhat long so I warn you in advance.  It is from what I have been told sort of a poetic prose....whatever that is.

Three Hundred Yards To A Kiss

Shhh....

listen...
just beyond the spattering of trees.

Natures static
of hissing as one wave after another pummels upon the fragile
beach.  Beyond this broken path of torn away soil is where we shall
be treated to the symphony of salten orchestras.

Come join me......
pay attention to all around.

The shading of shadows
distorting all hidden traced blessings of wonder.  The blades of
bermuda pressing against the soils of time from tramplings of those
before us as they too sought the silence of the night.Twigs of promise
piercing through forgotten remains of life giving cycles.  Silvery gray
clouds of moss growing their communities of tomorrows forces.....
searching for the darkened shelters with tenacity and poise.  Aromatic
seasonings of wild mint flavoring the gentle breezes;  kissing us
with tenderness as we step withing their realm.  Broken traces
of moonlit guidance flashing before our eyes between the pitter and
the patter of serrated prancings within the textured shells of maples
and splaying burst of long leaf pines.

Through this corridor of yesterdays turmoils just a hundred yards away
rest all the promises of tomorrows surrendering plight.  White sands
of glass sparkling to the cadence of twilights stars as they lend
sunken cushions under the weight of our feet.  One hundred yards of
dancing beneath us to the moistured kisses of each passing breach
of foaming passion.  Silent sizzles of millions of bubbles bursting
in the air as they roll across the pebbled sand.  Scalloped remains
of the oceans depths scattered aimlessly across the shore and neddle
size wells being dug as the sand crab searches refuge from the sandpipers
hunt. Just beyond the break of surf scoots the base of billowing sails.
The bow slicing the blue worlds of unforgiving seas as the white caps
of surrender break free of the battered fortress of watery protection
curling in fear as they are cast aside.

Just one hundred yards more to the green silkend rock standing firm
against the onslaught of harrassing waves.  Hermit crabs standing guard
as they lose ground with each barrage of angry crests and recapturing
what they can within the momentary retreat.
This is where we begin

our lovers life;

in silence we look deep in each others eyes amidst
the peaceful silence of natures wars.

We kiss.............

Mark Bohannan

Mark,
This is an amazing piece, every single line is poetry at its best. I can't even choose a favorite phrase, they are all so wonderful. All I can say is that it wasn't long enough. I could have read on and on. Your talents as a writer are certainly proven in this work.
You are very talented indeed.
I am in awe

I read this (twice) when you sent it to me
then again in prose
and again now...
so according to my calculations..that means
I have walked 1200 miles to get this kiss...
whats my reward   LOL
(and dont say the kiss) (hehe)

you already know how I feel about this prose effort...
I dont know if its prose or poetry...
there seems to be a dispute here...
all I know is you have gift for this
descriptive imagery, and detailed
beautiful writing.. and I hope you will
keep discovering it and developing it...
that way I can say I told you so..some more

Liz-Your replies are as lovely as your poems and both show just how special you are.  For YOU to say that I left you in awe is the biggest compliment I could receive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Marsha-no need for words...your quiet enjoyment thrills me to death.  Thank you so very much.

Marge-my dear sweet lady.....the things you must do to travel even the simplest paths.lol  You are so loving to stick with it and I thank you so very much for your persistance and for allowing me the opportunity to please you and there WILL be more.

JM-my sweet among sweets......hows about I carry you the other 4800 yards to OUR cabin and give you all that comes from our kisses we share.  Would that be enough...?      You can say "YOU TOLD ME SO " all you want as long as you keep whispering them in my ear each and every morn we share.

Mark...
You took my heart and my breath away
with this one!!! How I love the sea, and
all the life surrounding it. I grew up
on the beach, still live on the coast,
and don't think I'll ever tire of walking
barefoot in the surf and sand!
What a beautiful work this is, and
what a special kiss that must have been!!

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!

Denise-The cross can be of wood or vegetation and sometimes just an outline of shingles or such.  It is worth the quest as when you find it, you will never look at the print in the same way again.  You will look with much more inspiration.  Good luck.  I hope the two clues helped.

Now this is color! Just when I thought I knew them all you go and invent another one!  I hate to admitt, I am not quite sure what a poetic prose is BUT what I do know forsure is all that I read of you is "PERFECT POETIC PLEASURE!!" Each line just flows into the next, and the next, and the next.....so descriptive. Bringing the life of nature alive in us....but the end, melt my already melted heart...you are oblivious to it all and just lost in each other, in that moment....and the last two words "We kiss"....sighs...
As for the kiss, not much more needs to be said, as you have said it all. BUT, I do agree with Sunny1, what a kiss it must have been.........

Denise-glad to have helped and thanks much
I like it when I take someones breath away

Deb-more than enough believe me....thank you dearly;

Jenn E-mind if I carry you around for my ego.LOL  You are far far too sweet.  As for poetic-prose....I hate to admit it but I don't really know myself....that one is still being defined....I guess....and now I get to listen to more I told you so's from me sweet.LOL  Thank you for sending me to the heavens with your reply.

Ethome-for you to say that I impressed you is the compliment of compliments...your writing is far superior to mine as I see it and I thank you from the depths of my heart.....and yes, you are right....she is more than worth it.

Hi Mark--Just tuning in late to this post in poetry...I loved it as poetry, prose...whatever...words that carry such sweet and treasure filled imagery...that my heart now lies buried in the sand....so dig it out, will ya, the tide is coming in.
