I couldn't live on the plains,
the endless corn fields spinning out in all directions,
dizzying me with their monotony,
I couldn't spend my days
on the glaciers of Alaska,
with flat ice and a flatter sea closing in...
I need white mountains to hold up my skies.

I can't seem to fix this post correctly... I think my brain is asleep while my body is up searching the world for poetry... Thank you for your kind welcome, but actually, I'm not new here... I've just been away. I was a regular on one of the open forums that was closed down a few months ago and I tried to come here for a while, but it isn't the same... several of the poets from there have created a new forum so that's where I spend most of my time... unfortunatly it's down right now so I wandered over here for a peek. Do you live in the White Mountains?
