       "SWEET LIPS OF WINE"

It's been two years since I've been away,
When I arrived and knocked on your door.
I could see you standing there,
Just like you did, so many times before.

You knew from the start, that this day I'd be here,
So you wore those tight jeans, and a blouse I liked so fine.
The first moment I lay my eyes on you, the only thing I wanted,
Was to kiss those lips, of sweet - sweet wine.

But when I came near, you backed away,
You said that your heart was broken-in-two.
Well, you know what my darling, my feelings are the same,
You think it was just a broken heart, only for you?

Two years wandering, and two years lost,
You never called, and I never knew.
Misery and sadness were my faithful companions,
Loneliness and darkness followed me through.

No tender conversations, no affection smiles,
Your memory started to disappear from my mind.
Oh my darling, don't you ever fret,
For two companions came to my bed, and neither was kind.

One was of ice, that showed me your cold heart,
And one was of fire, showing me how it used to be.
I shivered and I burned, as I lay there for many dreary nights,
And you think that "-YOU-" wanted to torture "-ME-"?

Lips of wine, sweeter than sweet,
Your body that was warm with burning desire.
I would lay and remember all these things,
The tears came so heavy, until they burned from the fire.

Well now I'm back, hoping to start anew,
What do you say my darling, do we give it a chance?
Do we dare hold each other close in our arms once again,
Trying to mend two broken hearts, that needs to be romanced?

I stared into your eyes for an answer from you,
You said that your broken heart would be just fine.
Then you came closer, and gave me your soft lips,
And they tasted just like, sweet - sweet wine.

Bill

Beautiful love story especially trying to start over.  Love is a beautiful thing that shouldn't be tossed away.   If you feel it in your heart - go for it.

Bill,

What a soft and tender plea you have whispered to your love.  This was wonderful and romantic writing.  I hope your love enjoyed it also.

Gee Bill, you sure got a way with words!     You gotta love a man with romance in his heart and pen.  Great piece.

Hi Bill...
Well, I hope you're happy now....
the ending put water in my eyes, and
now I have to redo my mascara!!!
I'm just teasing, but not when I
say how much I loved this one.....
Happy endings are so rare in life, that
when I read about one, it puts a smile
     back into my heart!!!!
              Thank you for the  smile!!

Oh Sunny,
Tears would never do in the eyes that I see. A tissue for your tear, may it be wiped away. I am so glad that this poem put a smile in your heart, and perhaps one on your face, as big as the one in your photo. A very big "your welcome" for the smile!!!

Hi Sunshine,
Thank you for coming by, and for the kind comment that you have made.
