Stairway To My Heart
~*Marge Tindal*~

You lay across the stairway to my heart
Softly I tread your memories
one small step at a time

Footprints of desire leave a trace
of just who you were
and just where I want you to be

Tiptoeing quietly so as not to disturb
the plush-memoried patterns
I sink into the lushness of you

Filled with pleasured romping
Frolicking with gaiety
I ascend the staircase
Sighing at the delight of you
one small step at a time

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Wow Marge! that sounds like a wonderful memory stairway. I love how you melted in the memories as you ascended....you were even being a little naughty .....but, hey that goes with the hole memory package...just wonderful writing Marge as usual...

I am going to tip toe out quietly now so as not to disturb any of the plush-memoried patterns I have of this poem...I'm taking it with me.

Thank you.

Tee-Hee !
I'm gonna blow my cover and give you
the story behind the inspiration for this one.

I stopped by the carpet store and picked up
samples last evening for re-doing my stairway.
Wouldn't you just know it .....
as I layed the samples on the steps
these thoughts just came to me.

The poem is done .... the new carpet is not !
Oh, I'm such easy prey for the muses !
Now if they could just lay carpet ...
I'd put them to work !

Thank you for your encouragement of
what I do .... I appreciate you.

Oh !  Do you lay carpet ?????

Marge my friend...such a lovely poem and I love how you used this task of carpet laying to lay out this beautiful poem.

Gee Marge, this leaves me nothing short of jealous...especially the line"

"Softly I tread your memories                 one small step at a time"

I can think of a dozen things I could have fit that into, and a couple that would be a good opener for...

Beautiful,

jwesley

Just LOVED your reply.

JWesley~
Hey ... you are welcome to any line
of inspiration you might get from my thoughts.
Heck .. I pen from instant inspiration
all the time ...
garnered from some great poet's mind.
Thank you for the kind reply.
