In Dreams

Sweetheart you are gone
and my life goes on
but sometimes you still come around
in my dreams.

While we were together
I could have loved you forever
and you shared every sentiment
thru smooth or foul weather
in my dreams.

I remember the way you would say
"Do YOU care"?
Oh yes I cared
much more than you were ever aware.
And somehow I still do love you.
Yet now I have finally realized
a mutual love was never finalized.
It was a love we shared
only in my dreams.

Still my weary heart wonders why
I waste my precious time
to pout and cry
over a love that can only live or die
in dreams.

JamesLee...
I feel the sadness here, but mostly
the longing. It is so hard to love someone
who doesn't give it back. But at some point
someone else comes along and fulfills those
  dreams!
            I really like what you
                  did here.....

I have but one goal in
life.........
To make you smile!

James a very sad poem, well written. MY experiences in love are limited so I can not offer any wise words. I hope that you find your soul mate. peace.

James~
You've inspired the next piece that I post.
'You Still Come Around'

I thank you for the inspirational line -
'but sometimes you still come around
in my dreams.'

Hope you enjoy it, my friend.

So sad, unfortunately true too, but  I gues we have to hope next time it will be different.  I just love the last lines

Head up my poetic friend....the right one is out there just waiting to ride the rainbows of your dreams....your sadness and longing show quite well through your words and there is one that will take the time to see what you have to offer in so many ways......Wonderful write as usual.

this reminds me of one I wrote called "Love Not Meant To Be". I'll see if I can find it and post it.

Very sad and beautiful James. I really enjoyed reading.

you convey such longing and such pain...it makes me want to hug you and tell you there is someone out there...it just takes time to find the right one.

jmlee,

This is a poem I can definately relate to.

""Do YOU care"?
Oh yes I cared
much more than you were ever aware.
And somehow I still do love you.
Yet now I have finally realized
a mutual love was never finalized.
It was a love we shared
only in my dreams.

Still my weary heart wonders why
I waste my precious time
to pout and cry
over a love that can only live or die
in dreams."

I spent 2 years of my life loving some one who didn't love me back, no matter how bad I wanted it to happen.  The only thing I can say, and I know how cheesy it sounds, is the right one is out there waiting.  I have now found my right one, and I'm thankful every day for him. Never loose faith.

Thank you Tess, Mark, Jenn, passing shadows, Paula, Sea, rosepetals, and Claire for your warm and sincere comments.
I was thinking about some of the words said and I realized that I don't need to let go of my hopes and dreams...I only need to find the right woman to share them with.

James...I was going to lend my wisdom here as well but it seems that you have more then enough already. never give up on your hopes and your dreams my friend. There is nothuing wrong with dreaming about a love that can complete you. Late at night....when the loneliness creeps in....those warm arms and soft heart are what gets us through....even if it is only a dream...for now.

James-
this is both touching and beautiful mixed with a lot of sadness. you apparently have grown a lot as a person from this experience. god bless you and take care.

james this is awesome...
why do we dwell on these things?
i guess it feels good;  and it gives us something to do instead of eating
nice work my friend!

James--nothing wrong with dreaming...dreams fulfill us for awhile until the real thing comes along...and it will, maybe even more then once.  Very heart felt poem...Iliked it!
