Lil' Rob, i'm really not your father
but I would like to be.
Now I know if I was reading you this
face to face
you would not understand me.
Your dad was there
then chose not to be,
see Lil' Rob,
my dad did the same thing to me.
Everytime I see you
I see me too
In the same situation i was in
when I was your age
and it hurt's me too.
I never had his number
but he always had mine.
Broken promises on the phone
and he never gave me a dime.
He was not even there
when my mom passed away,
I told him what happened
all he said was " are you okay?"
Lil' Rob i'm not your father
but please let me in.
and i'll promise i'll be
the best step father
'til the end!

oh,this is very nice! Im sure that little boy can see all the love you have within you...and wont be long before he opens up and lets you dive right into his heart!

Excellent writing...I like the thought that even though he was deserted by his father you stepped in to love and care for him...James
