At times we're so exhausted
there is no strenght to feel ,
the thoughts we send aloft , bled
of that which turns the wheels .
Into this land of deadened sense
our toil will often lead ,
as gilded lure of recompense
does harness us as steeds .
Born to the plow except for this
last bastion of free will ,
our words are seeded fertilely
in rows the pen has tilled .
The limits of the flesh grown tired
affects this harvest not ,
as empty page once more is filled
by hand as is our lot .
