The Time Is Now

With starry eyes we make our wish
And dream our lives away
The now we have is never here
Not ready for today

Such tiny blessings pass us by
Because we do not see
Tomorrow is our hearts desire
But can we pay the fee?

Another day has passed us by
We longed for yesterday
Our pain is chalked onto the slate
In ‘now’ we could not stay

And when we close our eyes in dreams
Be it night or be it day
We’re given days to count our stars
Whilst at night we count our days

Perfectly written, and profound. I like the way you show us something we already knew, but never paused to consider. I also like the way this poem flows so cleanly - never a stumble over a word that doesn't quite fit into the rhythm - absolutely perfect. That is the real challenge, isn't it?

Poetry perfection...the flow and rhyme were
excellent and the message that was within
this weave was one everyone should hold
onto. Beautiful work Linda~
