Journey's End

As louvres of this lover's moon
displayed, afire into the night,
transport my sighs from out this room
enravished there on beam of light

For love is nigh but on the lea,
his voice I cannot bear to hear
as footfalls find their path to me
I thirst with knowing he is near

As to my love the night doth plead
and from my aching, wakes the sound,
to lead his steps through moor and mead
unto this lane, his search is bound

And journey's end shall taste as sweet
as any rare regale's impart
for my embrace will fast entreat
a feast beset my lover's heart

there you go again, Claire ... giving us all a lesson ... perfection, as usual ... (I hope you're hounding your local University Press with this work ... you should be)

Gentle Muse of the Meadow,
Again you speak to our hearts
In a voice that can be heard
Only in the silences. . .

Superb Claire. . . just wonderful. . .

Claire,

Each day lately I find yet another one of these treasures you've posted at Passions...this is incredibly lovely, my friend...each one seems more beautiful than the one before.

There is always such a soft flowing feel to
your poetry...only one more reason to love
it.  This is truly beautiful~

Claire,

Your poetry is a treat
Your words are a feast
But then,
Why do I always feel famished,
no sooner than feeding myself
with one delicious helping,
ever wanting more
.
.
.
hunger... yes for more
wonderful delicacies
marked as
'poetic works'.

My regards,
sudhir

After watching Shakespeare in Love again last night (*SIGH*) I can envision your poetry in a tiny leatherbound journal, handwritten, slightly smudged, carried in the pocket of some adoring man who cannot get enough of you.

You have an incredible gift for words, soft and flowing like a stream. It makes me want to try so much harder to learn to write.

My very humble gratitude to each of you for your encouraging notes, my friends.

~ Claire

M.A., Admittedly, I haven't done much "hounding" as of yet, but have had a few positive inquiries, so we will see. I keep thinking that my best work is yet to come, but isn't that generally the way of it? Thank you very much for your kindness.

Sven, there is, indeed, much to be heard in silence. Thank you, my friend, for your sweet words...

Michael, your continuing support is a treasure, to be sure. Thank you, dear friend.

Martie, I am pleased to know that you found beauty in this piece...thank you so much for letting me know.

American Princess, you write like you and have much to say! Thank you for reading, and take care!

Butterflies, I am just glad that you have enjoyed what I have written...my earnest thanks for your very generous words.

Bill, I am smiling. Thank you, most sincerely.

Coco, thank YOU for so positive a response, my friend!

Sudhir, your thoughtful reply flatters me to no end...I so appreciate you taking time to tell me what you thought of this piece. Oh, and Sudhir? Pretty SMILES to you today!

Jaysun, yes, the very same moon...I am sure of it! I am pleased that you enjoyed this wee journey.

Nan, you know, I believe all poets know hunger, do we not? Thank you, Nan, for such encouragement this morning.

Alan...To be told that one can "feel" what we've written...well, I know of no higher honor. Thank you, in earnest, for letting me know that you felt something in this. (and again, Welcome!)

What a beautiful and mystical feel to the language of your words Claire ... they simply float from line to line within this magical mood you've set here. Wonderful!

Best wishes,
/Kit
