      “IN LOVE WITH AN ANGEL”

My tortured soul cries for you in the darkness,
and my eyes search in the stillness, with fright.
My inner being is so greatly tormented,
as I start to see the faintness of the light.

The glow becomes so much brighter,
as I became more, and more aware.
Then I saw you at the end of the tunnel,
and my thoughts were only to beware!

Your hair was almost sun kissed blonde,
with the deepest blue eyes I ever saw.
And dressed in a soft lily white gown,
my spellbound mind was totally in awe.

An aurora spread about you,
and a halo graced you, over your head.
When I looked at you there was a smile,
I started wondering, if I was alive or dead!

And then suddenly I did realize,
that this was an angel, and was all mine.
Lord, she was so strikingly pretty,
and she looked to me, as so very divine.

I asked myself a question,
“what would happen if I went with her?”
Would I then be totally free,
of all trials and tribulations, which haunt me?

And then I made an unexpected decision,
as I turned, searched out, and took her hand.
I turned around, and placed my back to the past,
and I walked off with her, into another land.

That night, “I Fell In Love With An Angel,”
when I turned and went away with her.
To another place that I knew was beyond,
going gladly, but knowing not what I might incur.

Hello Bill......

This is so haunting and beautiful, and I hope it has a happy ending. It's always best to follow our dreams, even if we know not where they might lead!!!
                 Beautiful writing!!

Bill, what a sweetness in these words, and an examination of faith and trust. Lovely writing, to be sure.

Bill

What a beautiful poem.  The words are so soft and yes, haunting.

"And then I made an unexpected decision,
as I turned, searched out, and took her hand.
I turned around, and placed my back to the past, and I walked off with her, into another land."

You weave such magic in your words.

Hello sir - I do believe this is the first piece of yours I've been honored to read thus far!  The title caught my eye, as I myself wrote something very very similar to this just a couple of days ago.  "My dreaming death.."  I do think you might enjoy reading my tale too!  Sounds like we've had similar encounters with beauty - this is fabulously haunting, and I liked how you left the ending "open" for the reader's mind to wonder....?  Almost like there could be a part 2.  LOL  Exquisite work sir, so glad I caught it, and I'll definately look forward to reading more from you!  Bravo!

Good morning poetFemmeFatale,
First I would like to thank you for coming by for a visit for the first time. And to thank you for your most gracious words commenting about my writing.

Yes, I read this poem many times and the more I do, the more haunting it becomes to me. Perhaps a part two there will be.

I would love to read your poem, "My dreaming death" and will look for it.

Thank you once again for your kindness.

Very well written, I loved it.
Signs surround us, but you will only see them if you learn open your heart and become more aware.
I too have angel; she is going off to school.
It will be mystery of what becomes of our future?
I like your writting style; it's similar to mine, but your a little more advanced than I.
I've only been writting poems for a few months.
Anyway; very nice work.

Sometimes we do need to take that step into the unknown - After all - We know what's behind us, and what surrounds us - The mystique of that which lies beyond can surely be enrapturing, can't it??... Nicely done, Bill...
