The Shores of Alone

A city that I long for
called "America's finest"
I hear there's been unpleasant change
to live there, must be Midas.

Always rather costly there,
but now it's gone too far.
You have to be quite wealthy
or you'll live over a bar.

I hear it's much more crowded,
it always was, a bit
I don't know what to do now
afraid that I won't fit.

Yet still I need to go back,
someone special resides there.
And I miss the glorious beaches
with the weather always fair.

A pot of gold would help me,
or a wealthy relative.
A job that pays me millions
just to find a place to live.

I hear the recent college grads
make sixty thousand plus.
Too bad I'm not high tech enough
I'd be set without a fuss.

I'm going back to visit,
hope to find the answer then.
Will I soon be going home
or stay trapped in this pen?

~Aaaww Cat,...I hope this trip of yours answers many of your questions...I hope it's all you have remembered of it too. Wishing you a wonderful time on your journey. Take care you. BTW,...Love the title and the poem. *Peace.
