Said the Spider...

Come into my parlor door
A world you’ve never seen before
And gaze upon alluring space
A web of dainty luring lace

One step into the steep of snare
And lover’s web will keep you there
Just touch the net of capture glue
And it will hold and rapture you

So finely spun the web to catch
The one I love with skillful snatch
That every string to bear the net
Was wrought with care and slyly set

He has no fear of the beyond
Of what fine weave he treads upon
He goes along with flow and ebb
And never sees the towing web

And once upon the coven cot
With inticrately woven knot
He then becomes my willful prize
As though a spider’s skillfull guise

It is a shame we must resort
To trickery and traps of sort
As spiders know the fly will roam
Until he finds that sticky home

And he will ever be with me
Within this web of ecstacy
And boasts with glory in his way
Of how he captured me that day

Elizabeth Santos

Your pin spins an exceptional web of words.  I was caught with the first verse.

I'm reminded of a line from a song:
"a man chases a girl - until she catches him..." - I loved this - so up to date and contemporary
