If either of you are hurt
can you sit and talk?
Can you listen to each other?
Can you see past
the anger
the hurt
on both sides?

Love is not
just a 4 letter word
it resembles
bricks and cement
and as you built
you did so
because you valued
each other
respected
each other's opinions

You didn't build
just to share laughter
but because
you each felt
that you could
enjoy
all you had to offer
each other
to be able to resolve
all
your problems

Love isn't a word
it's a feeling
it's a way to say
I'm listening
I support you
I'm here
I understand
I hurt
Hold me
and to hug
however much you hurt
to mend
to give
and keep on giving

and finally
to know that infinite
sense of peace
because love isn't a word
it's about
how
you treat each other
and in reality
love
as a word
doesn't do the feeling justice
because in today's world
it's a throw-away
5 minute word...

Although the thoughts are mine, the feelings are mine and I believe every single word I just said and always have done, I was really thinking about something that Marge said in another poem and this came out, so thought I'd share my thoughts on how I see "togetherness" or "love" .

Reminded me of that old saying, "love is not
a noun, but a verb."  (i'm hoping it's an
ACTION verb! giggles...)  Great Job!

This is beautiful like a Rainbow across the shy
So full of love and reasons why
Such poetry I do there love
Please write some more there of

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Just a real thinker, RainbowGirl~
If anything I wrote caused you to reach down deep for this one, then I'm complimented.

It is truly lovely.

But too often love is just a used word.
