With gentle ease they float upon the air
They do not manifest a single care
They sow and toil not as humans do
Yet harvest benefits in skies of blue.

They catch the current and are carried high
So effortlessly gliding through the sky
A sense of peacefulness they grant to me
These lovely creatures through their spirits free.

A blessing for the soul in strife this brings
Let heaven be the wind beneath your wings
He’ll lift you by His ever-present care
Your soul set free can float upon the air.

~My friend~

Soon you will be soaring gracefully

~As if~

Nothing else existed – flying free.

(this is in response to a challenge given to me by Lost Dreamer to use the phrase, 'Soaring gracefully as if nothing else existed'. I know this is not a sonnet but it's just the way it turned out...hehehe)

And slight is the sting of his trouble
Whose winnings are less than his worth;
For he who is honest is noble,
Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~

I believe it turned out just fine.  There's never a doubt when it comes from your pen.

Denise, This is beautiful, I'm glad I was able to inspire you to come up with such a wonderful poem. I gave you another hint in my Thank You response to you in "Magical Man" I bet you could do wonders with that to. Anytime you want a phrase just ask, I love to see what comes from it. It's like planting a seed and watching it grow.

Denise - you nailed this one, Lady.  Very nicely done.  And... I finally get to put a face with the name, and very nice face at that!

Your words flow gracefully upon the page
In sonnets that will live from age to age
You did it again, Denise
