I lie here
alone and naked
beneath the comfort
of the quilt
that we picked out
on our honeymoon.

I pull your pillow
close to me
and bury my face
in my memories
of you.

   Your scent still lingers
   throughout this house,
      you know...

I picked up a towel
from the bottom of the bath closet
yesterday...
A bottle of your perfume
rolled across the floor
and stopped at my feet...

I sprayed a little into the air
       and just stood there,
          missing you....

Chris,
This is so true...missing someone is so much more than just in your head; it's a taste, a smell or a touch.

Chris~ I understand this ache so well. You wrote it beautifully. Missing is more than an
emotion,it is a substance that can choke the air out of a house. Great poem.-SEA

ChrisG~
This one tears at the heart.
It's so beautiful.
What tender, touching memories to confront.

Cherish those things that allow you
to recall the love ...
someday the fragrance may disperse,
but linger in it's luxurious fragrance
while you may.
Hopefully, another perfume will
fill the rooms of your heart.

Chris~ I really like this.

You pull those special details out of the missing and make it so real.  Very well done!
