Sitting in Michael's Lap

0 posted 2000-02-07 07:37 PM

Come near, my child, I bid you well this night.
I see you pause – is then my voice so strange?
Have you in truth forgotten my delight,
That you endeavor history to change?
Will you deny that I have granted peace,
When all about you, chaos held the rein?
Can you forget such rapturous release
As I proffered, when all you knew was pain?
Will you refuse each vision you have sought
Of happiness, to labor on alone?
For all your stubborn pride, you still are wrought
Of only flesh, and I am not of stone.
Oh foolish child, if only you could see;
You'd sooner vanquish Death than conquer me!

 Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Skyfyre-
I really do like the soft flow of this.
Would you mind telling me what inspired it?
Thanks. ~*Marge*~

Mmmmm...This piece felt very "wiccan" to me, smooth as silk.  Very nice.

Wonderful poem Skyfyre, it flows like a gentle stream

 I am not a poet, I am merely one who speaks in emotion

devina:  there is no such animal as perfection, but I strive to tame it nonetheless.  Thank you.

Marge:  This was in essence intended to convey an unwelcome visit from a heart long denied -- the speaker is, of course, the heart itself, addressing the one who owns it.

serenity -- yes, there were allusions to a goddess of sorts, but in this case 'twas the one that rules our emotions ...

Mike:  Likewise.

Mistikman:  ...and your compliment shines like sunlight on the ripples.

Ruth:  And your generosity is nothing short of angelic, my dear.

Um...  What can I say, WOW.  This cuts at the emotions in many ways, Kess.  Very powerful - touched me where I didn't necessarily want to be touched...LOL  Great work.

Fabulous, absoluty in awe
How you created the scene
Thank you for sharing this

 The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
