Staring at innocence lost
days passing in finality
Each hour carries higher cost
and more responsibility

Do you remember days gone by?
How easy time would come and go
your aspirations all a lie
you find your dreams fade as you grow

And still you choose to look away
You hide it in the shadowed mind
until you wake up on that day
and see the truth your forced to find

The days of youth are precious few
And gone before you’ve come to see
that nothing you can ever do
to get back who you used to be.

Its so true, that while we are young, we wish so badly that we can be grown up, but when we finally reach that point, where we are realizing that we are beginning to grow, then we all of a sudden wish we were young again...
great job! i liked

And the funny thing is, we don't ever realize it till it's a bit too late.  Or maybe we do, but like you said, we look the other way.  This is so so true....it's how things really are.
