Truth

For some the search for truth
is illusive
like chasing a feather
on the wind.
Others hunt for truth
as for prey
when it hides in the bush waiting
for it's scent to go cold.
Often the sound of truth
is a whisper
caught in the echo
of tradition.
Only discerning ones find truth
where it waits
under an avalanche
of distortions.

Robert

if you can dream; you can fly...if you are flying; you are dreaming.

well said Robert ... anyone who disagrees can get on the phone and try to get in touch with the government official responsible for anything you might have a problem with

Such a well written piece, Robert, with a superb message. To hear the truth, one must be quiet and willing to listen. I liked this, very much.

Wow.  Who ARE you?  I'll be looking for everything by you from now on.  I think of truth as "an echo of my heartbeat" and that is exactly what this poem is to me.  Thank you for such a thought-provoking piece.

Ohhhhh  }

Actually I have been in quite a poetic slump lately. I haven't written a poem for over a month now. I just have been posting from my archives.....writer's block never really worried me until lately.

I feel for ya Robert, I've been experiencing it too.  Dig through your scraps, see if those phrases you jotted down a while back inspire anything!

Robert, I hope it comes back to you soon, but I also understand my mind has been on hold except for a crueller here or there. I relate it to the weather, I hate winter so I can't get in a mood to release what's captured in my mind. Good luck, I'm sure will see brilliance from you again soon.

This is a great poem! I like the ideas presented. As for you block, I've been there! Get the book "Creating Poetry" by John Drury. He has some lessons at the end of each chapter..some of them are fun and it does get some juices flowing again..otherwise, how about a challenge? I'd be glad to oblige!
