On the airplane I had a window seat
My hometown was ravished by a storm
I felt guilty as the ants rebuilt their hill
But then I saw a rainbow taking form

As we rose high above the wispy clouds
Seemingly racing for the rainbow’s arc
Each vibrant color meant the world to me
I was never really weaned from the dark

I found rainbows embody heavens touch
I read in a poem so long ago
But now I’ve found I was near-sighted
Here the beauty is bountifully so

Someone whispered gently, the rainbow’s gone
Someone whispered gently, that’s how I heard
But I was watching the rainbow was gone
I need not have heard those reverent words

Crestfallen through customs I opened bags
Crestfallen the agent held up his hand
No language barrier for we both knew
Rainbows are for others to understand

But in a little Net café there I found
An extension to the outside of town
And over the sea on the horizon
I smiled as a lone rainbow touched the ground

Walt this is interesting.  Don't ya know,

The rainbow of promise
Comes after the storm
To let y'all know
You're now safe from harm!

What a trip it must have been.

Sir Walt, What a journey you detail here, sounds like you fight the light and the darkness, but the light has an edge over the darkness.

I really liked this Walt...made me smile!
I thought Cozumel was really nice, but you should have gone down just a bit further to see Honduras!  What a magnificent island!  I think the further down you go, the more emerald blue the waters get....glad you're back BTW!  Yuh!
