I don't want you to know I can be sad
So I will always make you laugh instead
I don't want you to know that I can hurt
I don't want you to know what's in my head

We can laugh and pull up daisies now
I'll try not to dwell on their sudden death
You might recite a moving monologue
In secret I think its a waste of breath

I love you it's all I hold onto now
Though you don't amuse me like you did
Maybe I was looking for something wrong
While we played hide and seek I always hid

You might think I was a fool to believe
That a smiling face meant a happy heart
Well if its contagious you got it now
Might I think inside you too are dark

Walt, wow, aren't we writing some serious stuff.  I like this side of you...I love that line that a smile doesn't always mean a happy heart! It sure don't. Great writing!!

A strong message, tinged with melancholia...well written, Walt.

How serious can you get? But touching! Great work - let's see more of this kind.

OK - I'll accept an occasional serious work - because you're good at 'em.... This one has a wonderful message..

But don't put your humorous quill away for too long, OK???

W.O.W.~
How intriguing is this ?
Amazingly so.
You've really got some marvelous lines
in here.

'We can laugh and pull up daisies now
I'll try not to dwell on their sudden death'

'While we played hide and seek I always hid'

I am convinced that I like it very much.

We can't be happy all the time that's for sure! But smiling sometimes gets you there!
