Respect and tolerance abound
In the sanctuary we’ve built here
Poetic people from round the world
Becoming friends we now hold dear

As the circle ever widens
Drawing strangers into the fold
Hands reach out in welcome to
All poets young or old

Though threatened by a storm
Of bigotry and disdain
Steadfast do we stand
Our freedom we maintain

Passionate is our name
Writing is our common goal
For in this family of friends
Each one completes the whole

PoetdeVine~
This is a wonderful way of saying what is in the hearts of many.
I hold steadfast to the hands and hearts of the friendships I've forged here.
The circle is never-ending ...
and is the perfect symbol for this place.
Glad to share the friendship.

Great poem Sharon! This is a wonderful place, and I hope this means something to those who choose to use the "Passions" name in a bad way!

This is a place of Respect and Tolerance...  Way to go girl!

poet D
you speak words of wisdom in this...
very warm tribute to this place we call home.
I wish the world outside these walls were as passionate, friendly, tolerant and respectful.
take care, jm

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be

Hi Poet deVine,

Wonderfully said
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
and Passions poets hold such endless

Thank you all for your kind commments. You know this poem is dedicated to all of you that have formed this circle...without you there would be an empty space and all the good stuff would spill out into the vast wastelands of the internet.

I truly think if Passions were ever to disappear, I would also. I've never known a  group of people that I like, admire, respect and care about more than all of you. And to top it off - you write beautiful poetry!

Thank YOU!

no heaven can be perfect for everyone all the time ... but I must admit that since coming to passions I have started to look at my fellow poets and their works in a whole new light ...
I like what I see
and the pleasure I find, costs no more than what I receive

They say that our children have learned their lessons well if they behave properly when they're out in public.  Well, we all know that Passions is founded upon the principles of tolerance and respect for others.  Let's hope that any who call themselves "Passions Poets" can adhere to those tenets if they're to represent themselves as such out in the cyber-world of poetry...

Nice job, PdV..

Yes this is a lovely place...lots of encouraging people here...without that encouragment many would stop writing..and then they would not get better and better..so it is a wonderful endless circle of support.   Thanks for pointing out that it takes respect and tolerance.   James
