An eyeless stream of smiling faces
Empty sockets wide with wonder
Moves along the road most traveled
Seeking shelter in the blackness
Of the dark abyss
Before the rising of the sun
That burns away the morning mists
Reveals the vastness of the sea
Their ignorance is bliss

Well written, interesting piece here--left me a little confused and troubled.  Welcome to Passions.

Thank you Martie.  Don't feel troubled by this.  I just liked the sound.

Poet DeVine, thanks for the card.  I'll have to learn how to do that.

Well written ... sometimes I get the feeling that everyone around me doesn't see or care about anything but their own little world
I can't help but wonder what goes on on the other side of the eyelids

welcome to passions

Welcome to Passions! Great poem! I liked the way it sounded too. Something to think about.

"Ignorance is bliss",  a mighty good topic to write about... It pulls through in your poem... echoing Denise  "Something to think about"  definitely!

Wow, this is mindsweeping poem, LittleBoyLost.  Took me to some pretty deep realms here.  Love it.  I may also point out we have a forum for "Dark" poetry too.  If you write like this often, you might like to take a look around in there.  As that is my ture home, I would love to see ya there.

Definately not "the road most traveled" though...LOL

Welcome to Passions.

The stare of the eyeless is fear, but they shun the light, it reveals too much.
