Standing at a crossroads
I see two paths before me
As the sun sets slowly in my eyes
Just out of the forest
And into the open plain
Not knowing where my home lies
But still, a choice to be made
Will it lead me home or not?
Home to where the heart knows rest
Will I get there someday?
I tremble, the shadows come
And I doubt if I’ll pass the test
A choice is made, one path
I tread its winding way
To behold others, their own choices
Intertwining with my own
Leading to the same convergence
Silence unites all of our voices
Knowledge gained
That ends remain,
For everyone,
The same

Reading this really makes a knot come up into my chest.....argh.  I can relate to this in a more painful way unfortunately.  Sucks to be wandering around in life wondering where you *fit in* 'eh?  I have been struggling with this now for 6 months or more.  You sure know how to put my heart on paper - fabulous read you have here.  Bravo!

"Silence unites all of our voices"...what a creative line, this.

I think you've managed to express (and skillfully so) what so many of us feel when adrift in that search for self. (and self's self) An excellent depiction.
