Hula Skirts Out In My Yard
~*Marge Tindal*~

Days of slumber
and sweet regret,
of not finishing projects
I've managed to forget.

Grass so green
I could scarce believe,
Mother Nature has more beauty
up her sleeve.

She grows it T A L L
right in my path.
It demands that I mow
and take a sweat bath.

The facts are certain
and shall remain,
I grow it and I mow it
and it grows back again.

Seems to me that
we could invent
a grass that lays down
when the day is spent.

But, no not us,
we just have to be
the biggest and the best
with the most longevity.

Should I let it grow tall,
or mow it and send it in
to the factory that makes hula skirts
waving on hips in the wind?

This is delightful, Marge!! Maybe you could do like I did.....I had it removed and had a patio built!!! No more mowing for me!! I did reserve a foot and a half on each side of the yard though for planting! Again, great poem, Marge!

Well ..... I'm a country girl !
That's FIVE ACRES of hula skirts !
How much is concrete going for these days?
It is worth consideration !
No wonder I get brown as a berry in summer.
Thanks for the suggestion !
LOL !

Hey, Marge, if you'll invite me up
I'll tell you what I'll do
I'll spend the day out in your yard
For just one sight of you.

And while I'm passing those long hours
For one small chance to gaze
At your great figure passing by
I promise I will graze!

Balladeer~
Truly, truly, truly laughing out loud !
Oh, merci !

Sure I'll gladly invite you up
and grazing you can go.
I'll serve you cold lemonade
to keep you on the go !

As I pass by in 'nekkid' array,
baking in the sun ...
I don't want to see you drooling
until your chores are done !

But, oh when you are through
and it's time for you to get paid ...
I can't promise anything better
than ...(better not go there !)
Ummm !  Another glass of lemonade?

Maybe I better take Denise's
proposal ... it's a little more CONCRETE !

Sounds like the grass grows
nice and green on your side
of the street.
I bet it looks beautiful
to all those that by.

Nurse C~
It's nice and green alright !
And LOTS OF IT !
The problem is ... the passerby's
do just that !

I think I'll have to come up with
a creative John Deere tractor race !
Hey!  Now there's an idea I could live with.

Marge,

If you pass by in THAT array,
There's something you should know...
I'll eat the grass and dirt and rocks
And worms that move too slow!

Then, when folks chance to ask of me,
With glimmer in your eye,
You'll say, "Oh, yeah, I knew him well.
That man was one turf guy!"

Balladeer~

A 'turf' of a guy
that's what he was alright.
I saw him across the field
when the sun lost it's light.

He ate the whole darned yard
and everything that moved drew harm ...
Perhaps you'd like to borrow him
to cultivate your farm.

I can recommend him,
he was the very best ...
but he can't handle 'nekkid'
and that's my mode of dress !

That's the problem ...
it did grow !
Glad you got a chuckle out of it !

Martie~
LOL !  Thanks, gal !
If I could just convince him
to sit astride my John Deere !
Hey !  Just dawned on me
I would have my own Balla-Deere !
(lame, but, can't blame a gal for trying.)

Balla-Deere~
When the neighbors start complaining
about the grass up to the sky,
I'm just gonna tell them
Balla-Deere will be by.

Upon these grasses
he'll glady graze ...
if it happens to be
a sunshiny day !

Take it all off
and let it show.
The more you sow,
the more you grow,
the more you mow.

LOL! at you !
You just tickle my fancy.

This is appalling!
Another situation for that Balladeer to get 'nekkid'!
Marge(y) - what are you doing?
What are you unleashing??!

(Running to cover my sensitive eyes...)

Wonderful idea btw...
