Fire Maiden

I have encountered a fire a maiden
a tigress of the night
who stirs away the dark and coldness
and fills my world with light

And she can penetrate my soul
fingering my emotions like chords on a harp
filling me with the music of passion
a sensation felt so sharp

I in my bed look up at her
and she burns away my worries
my lonlieness, my depression, my shadows
replaced by the warmth she carries

Her flames streak and span the air,
beaming out of her eyes
and composing her wings and hair,
as from corner to corner she flies

Embracing me in her arms and care
she takes me up and above
into the land of be-heavened creatures
where certain is known true love

And then I awake startled
the same man that has no soul
save for his very own
waiting for a real woman, waiting to be whole

And the dark and coldness don't retreat
but to me these words speak-
"Your soul grows weak"
And my heart and my mind depressed
have this declaration to make-
"Better to not be awake"

But still I can find peace
in my pen and art
just buried in my dreams
just digging from my heart

 "...no single sound too rude
Upon thy slumber shall intrude,
Our thoughts, our souls- O God above!
In every deed shall mingle, love."
--Edgar Allan Poe (from Serenade)

PoeMinister~
I felt the heat from
your 'Fire Maiden'

'But still I can find peace
in my pen and art
just buried in my dreams
just digging from my heart'

Lovely.
