I am a soldier of love
who seeks an adventerous life
in whatever circumstances
that chance offers in love and strife

I am a soldier whose love is stronger than
the wildest wind or rain
and it will live when life itself
appears to be in vain

Day by day I march in love
trying not to skip a beat
you're the one I will always love
you make me feel complete

Above the roar and chaos
against the raging sea
and after all the sands of time
have joined eternity

This soldiers love is more enduring than
the ever faithful friend
and far beyond my fondest hopes
that touch a rainbows end

and though the universe may burn
and melt away the sky
this soldiers love will be the same
and it will never die

Just be glad I'm not your child! *evil grin*

Hi Echo!
Just read your poem and I really love it!
It describes perfectly how I´d like to feel,
being my own soldier not needing any rescue ...

Thanks for this one

Echo, nice to see you.  You're a beautiful girl, hope things are going well for you!

I love this poem.  I especially like the way you paint a picture of the chaotic nature of life and the soldier's steadfast love through it all. "though the universe may burn
and melt away the sky"--Great phrases in here!

Hi I am not very good at poetry and new at this site, but I know good poetry when I see it, and that was wonderful . I like the metaphor of life being a battle .
Many Thanks, that made me warm inside .

I'm very impressed with the depth you took this poem to, Melanie.  Definately a class A work.
