            The orchid

An orchid grew upon a stem,
In back of it a group of them.
Enchanting in the colors blend.
Exotic in the fumes extend.

They bobbed the wind like butterflies,
Entrancing me and fixed my eyes.
And I was drawn into a web,
Of transcendental flow and ebb.

That wove a net of rainbows dream,
That took my mind into extreme.
For there she sat beneath a tree,
Surrounded by my fantasy.

Exquisite in a golden glare,
About her grew green maidenhair.
Her gown so white it made me blink,
Until it reached her throat of pink.

Like plants that turn and face the sun,
I turned with then and gazed as one.
Hypnotic in this turning phase,
A wonderment of my malaise.

Entranced in this radiant show
And captured by the instant glow.
Vanished, as it came about, but
That it happened, there was no doubt.

And though the orchids ever dance,
They've not again with this nuance.

A very nice poem. I envy anyone who can write a decent poem that actually rhymes ! A talent I can not quite conquer.
Keep it up...Sorry about my spelling.

Sy,
Only from your pen, my friend, pour orchid dreams in such sensual phrase. You write words that seem to float across the page, without ever touching it. You truly have a magical pen, or perhaps just magical thoughts from a brilliant mind
Love ya

Elizabeth,
It is you more then I, that brings about the poets sigh.
It is you more then I, that shows the gifts of the Magi.
Love Sy

How well and with ease you find this flow
And so enchanting even so
A poem written wich such skill
Thank you

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Seymour,

This wonder I would never have guessed
Thigmotropism, poetically, so expressed
That plants respond to touch and feel
Has been to me so very real
And that man responds to both of these
When beauty fair he suddenly sees

Just lovely.

Meadow,
I knew there was a word for it. Thigmotropism
that's a five dollar word. Thank you. *L*
