Old year gone, New year has come..
What is the reason, that you're havin' fun?..
Some tip the bottle, Some tip the hat..
Some dance to this, Some dance to that!
Some lift a spirit, bottled to the sky..
Could it be that, their Spirit has died?..
Who only knows, certainly not I..
I'm not to judge, but rather should cry-
For a mile, I've not walked..
In your step or your shoes..
Never condemn with my talk,
The path that you choose..
For richer or poorer..
For better or worse..
Here's hoping wisdom will come,
As you reason this verse...
So if you dance cause you're happy..
Or you dance cause you're Sad,..
Each will be dancing,
Whether lonely or glad..
So if you lift up your bottle,
Or you courtsey with your hat..
Whatever flows in your soul..
God knows about that!
So lift up that bottle, misery at hand,
Ask God to reach down and help you..
Create a new man...
Then let loose that bottle,
Then raise two "Free Hands"
Give thanks with clean lips,
You've been "born once again"!!!

Written last nite at 12pm- May God bless all of you
in the next millenium!  James David

Very interesting perspective!  And how true are the words you speak...."...dance cause you're happy, dance cause you're sad..."  Tis true - what a mixed emotional New Year this is going to be for all!  How very exciting, and yet how very "nerveracking" all at the same time!  (nervous laugh)  Each New Year, I seem to be dancing for both happiness and sadness....This year will be no different in that perspective.  I always have mixed emotions this time of year.  Well, I've managed to get a little off the true subject of your poem, but indeed, this should be a time to lift our hands and heads toward Heaven and give thanks....We have so much to rejoice about!  I hope each and every one can find at least one thing in their lives to be thankful for, as the New Year rolls in...It's not hard...just remember those who have it far worse than you.  There are plenty of folks like that.  Gives thanks at midnight, and celebrate safely!!  God Bless us all as we enter this moment in history together!!   CHEERS !!
