How she breaks
as she waits...
for the world
to gather round
and catch the demise
of the poor foolish girl.

She was a thief
to your comfort
or
an answer
to your prayers
but
always
kept in darkness.

Her faith
began to falter.
Thus exposing you.
You need not disrobe
to be naked.
Only honest.

The dawn star
burns bright
and clears
the evening mist.
Her vision restores.
What she first
deemed glory
is only weakness.
A sadistic weakling,
Afraid.

Her head hangs low
as she finds
her angel
never had wings.
It was she
all along
who had
the gift of flight.

I enjoyed this greatly!

Applauding!!! Wonderful!!! Oh, can I ever relate to this one. You expressed yourself very clearly and this flows so well. Great job, I wouldn't change a thing in it

JaxJoy -
Oh, how I like this ...
what a thought ...
what truth:

'You need not disrobe
to be naked.
Only honest.'

WONDERFUL !  WONDERFUL !

What a wonderful and powerful poem.  I liked those same lines that Marge did. Hope to read more of your poems.

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
