Rhapsody

My breath, catching fast
In the clasp of his arms
Somehow continued to deliver,
Through miraculous means,
The air, sweet and steaming,
Flowing into my chest, love's river.

Now I, surely dreaming,
Could make not a move
Nor quiet my heart from its thunder
As I turned to him, willing,
My lips full and yielding,
Soft sanctuary, inviting his plunder.

Though as he drew near, so
His aching came clearer, yet
His eyes filled with mindful regard,
For he knew that his soul
Would at last make mine whole.
My lover, my poet, my bard.

This is wonderful Meadow. . .

I love the imagery that you've used here. . . "My lover, my poet, my bard. . . "  Beautiful words. . .

Looking forward to seeing more. . .

Meadowmuse, this is excellent. Any man would be proud to have this written about him. Very delicate and yet strong. I like it very much.
