Wearily Silver stands in silence
inside the solitary stall at home
Sensing as only a horse can
that he'll no longer be free to roam

Tonto, his sidekick, went before him
To prepare a place for his friend
And we will always remember
He was a masked man til the end.

A hero to each young girl and boy
A symbol of honesty and fair play
His ‘Heigh Ho Silver’ silenced forever
The Lone Ranger died today.

Clayton Moore, the Lone Ranger from the television series so long ago, died today.

Such a lovely tribute to a man who brought so many happiness.  Wonderful, PdV.

I must say that the poem was very touching, I guess I missed this little piece of sadness, thanks for sharing PD!

Very well done.  I sent a copy of this to an old friend of mine with whom I shared many a Lone Ranger episode.

PdV:

This is sad news and a wonderful tribute.  I used to get up at 6:00 AM before going to school to watch "The Lone Ranger".  Loved the way he could shoot the guns right out of the hands of the black hatted bad guys.  He will be missed.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

That certainly is a neat tribute...i recall the lone ranger and what you have done makes him live in the hearts of those who knew him!
