Martie,
I was referring to the sereneOne.. Ms. Karen ... since y'all know her and love her just like I do. Thanks so much for looking and for your kind words! One day, if I ever have time to set up the darn content management system, I would like to add more poetry written by other pip poet friends.

Michael,
How sweet of you, 'deer heart! I've decided that there's a problem with accomplishments. They require too much darn work! lol... I haven't added anything to the site for 2 years, I think. You are very kind and I appreciate you taking a look and commenting. Thank you so much! Hope all is well with you.

Doreen I really enjoyed this, "the rhythm of imagination." You are a wonder of unfulfilled fantasies. They can never be fulfilled because there are always more to come. Keep on doing what you do.You are a one woman show. best to you, martyjo

thank you, martyjo!

I wrote that "rhythm of imagination" piece for a show I participated in at Gallery Neptune in Bethesda, MD.. It was a show about literature and how it effected us as children and they had it taped as part of a "storyteller series" on npr (or so they told me)... but i never got a copy of the recording. One day maybe. It was fun! (wrote it the night before the show.. lol.. i'm always so late no matter how on-time i try to be. I also participated in the "cupidity" show at Gallery Neptune... an art gallery owned by Elyse Harrison.  ...  http://www.galleryneptune.com/

anyway.. thank you for reading, martyjo... hope to some day record that piece

Original ad as printed in the "City Paper", Washington DC-
You and Max were playing in the dog park at Columbia and Kalorama Friday around 6 p.m. I was there with Emma. You're a doll. Would love to set up a play date. When: Friday, September 30, 2005. Where: Dog Park, Columbia and Kaiorama. You: Man. Me: Woman. #901065

Here is Matt's painting.

Here is the writing I came up with inspired by Matt's painting.

Spied you at the Kennel Club near the hydrant. Fact is I dug your pug. That old cur Max made eyes at my mutt. Her fur got ruffled by his bow wow but I got a dilemma. My _itch Emma was on the ball, caught your mongrel's call but I missed your name. Tossin' a bone your way. Be a hound and sniff me out. Fetch my heat. My tongue's sweatin'. Ya can't keep me on a leather leash. Gotta run free. But take the lead and I'll heel. I won't beg but could be your pet. My nose is wet. Betchyer tail is curled. What's your stud fee? Get yer dander up, canine, and bark at me by email. I'll bite.
