The sweetest, gentlest man just killed himself....in my church. Help me pray for Johnnie Carl's family and his friends....all 15,000 of us.

Some you can almost understand, and some....you just ask why-why-why.....

This is so sad..and I most certainly will pray
for Johnnie and his family.
Something like this is so hard to accept or understand.
Sending heart hugs your way too.

I do pray for the family and friends...those are the ones left behind

my mother and brother both killed themselves years ago

sometimes I can understand why
sometimes I don't

Good man, gentle man....a brilliant composer and a musician of incredible talent, thousands of songs and arrangements to his credit.....

I've sung his music there (the Crystal Cathedral), and it was as much a pleasure for the artist as for the audience....can't believe he's gone, and in such an awful way.

Yes.....It'll be all over the news today, since it happened where it did....but know that they won't be telling anything about the real person.

It's so ironic -- there are three separate services at the church that could have helped him....a psychologist on staff, and two different 24-hour suicide hotlines...my own son is a counsellor with the one that is on-line....

Johnnie died less than 200 feet from the building that houses the other one....where there is a suicide prevention service available 24-hours a day.....

Oh, my friend... I am so sorry... so very sorry... especially that despair should claim victory so close to the help that was waiting.

I will definitely keep his family in my prayers... all of you.

How sad, very very sad. And no matter where someone does this final act, it is so sad for those left behind with more questions than answers, and you may never know the why.

Ed...sending thoughts of healing to all
BTW, it's already on the internet news, and the stories indicate he had some ongoing depression. The final hours began Thursday evening with a standoff, and police were attempting to maintain a dialogue with him with the help of others who knew him well (for over 5 hours) but he apparently shot himself. Sad, so close to so many who tried to intervene.

Joining in prayer. This is unbearably sad. As you say, dear Ed,  he expressed Divine creativity so beautifully ...
He probably just for a moment "was not in himself" and obeyed to a uncontrollable impulse. May his soul soar upon the music he himself gifted the world with ...
God forgives and will keep him in His immeasurable Love and heal him.
Love,
Margherita
