Congratulations!
Oops, I forgot about the game, was 'moonstruck' and into the blue, reading.
Is this a first for them?

I haven't taken that red hat off I bought the day I spent with you two and Nan since this series started.  I swear I even got a loud boo one day downtown from a group of guys supporting NY, LOL.  I loved that green monster Fenway and the Red Sox the minute you introduced me to them, and I sure love them even more now for doing this for the fans of Boston.  I have never seen a home town support their team like you do there.  Congratulations!

They got lucky! If it weren't for the fact that they scored more runs each game than the Cardinals, they would have lost!!

(did I mention that I'm from St. Louis?)

Alright, I concede that I really am happy for them. They had a great year, a masterful comeback against the Yankees and an overpowering performance against my beloved Cardinals. They truly deserve to be the champs

Yep - They got lucky for sure...

They got VERY lucky when they came back to sweep the Yankees in the playoffs -  four consecutive games after being down 3-0... Lucky guys...

Then they got pretty lucky in the series too - Another four straight (that'd be 8 straight)... Lucky, lucky, lucky...

Glad you see it our way, Deer..

YES!!

To quote the Boston Globe:

At last. As first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz snagged the final out, citizens of Red Sox Nation convulsed. They wept. They exhaled. They exalted. Smiles blossomed. Hugging erupted. Curses were dismissed, longing was satisfied, and memories made.

And we danced under an eclipse-reddened moon toasting a baseball championship whose elusiveness since World War I had become a regional badge of futility, worn by four generations.

Thank you Red Sox
2004 World Champions!!

Sharon, it must have been your 'red hat.'

I did not waver Marti honest, kept that hat on every single day, and would have worn it to bed!  Like I said, the magic I felt that day in Fenway Stadium will never again be repeated.  In the middle of a week to see a stadium full to the rafters of fans, is just too heartwarming, especially when at that time they couldn't do too much right remember?  Well now, the curse is broken and I today I am wearing my Winnie The Pooh hat

They did a fantastic job, and earned that title this time they did, they did!

Congrats! I have to admit, I'm usually heckling Boston teams(Celtics and ugh..the Bruins) but have always liked the Sox and even moreso after teaching the Yankees a lesson

I just love all your replies. Thank you so much. I plan to print them out and give them to my 90 year young father-in-law who lives and dies for his Red Sox.

He's really a Brooklyn Dodgers fan but I wonder how many here remember them!!

hugs and smiles, Marti
