As some of you may be aware, Michael has been very ill lately. Michael knows first hand, as do many of the rest of us, just how powerful prayer can be. Therefore, he has asked me to pass on his request for prayers from his Passions family. I will leave it to Michael to share any further details as he sees fit. We need not know all, in order for our prayers to be heard and answered. Please keep Michael and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this stressful time. Your prayers are VERY much appreciated, probably, more than you realize. It's true, I'm going through a very tough time right now, both physically, as well as mentally, but I've survived lung cancer thus far and it doesn't get much tougher than that. I'll survive this as well, God willing, especially with the support and prayers of wonderful friends like you. As for details, I have an extremely painful and often crippling disease which the doctors have yet to give a proper name to, but are calling it Neuropathy. Because of the medication I've been forced to take in order to help control the pain I now have an ulcer acting up, making it very difficult to eat without becoming nauseated. Needless to say, I've lost a great deal of weight, not to mention, rest and sleep. I'm extremely exhausted and because I've had to cut back pain meds in order to help my stomach heal, the pain from both ulcer and the disease has increased dramatically, forcing me to spend nearly all of my time in bed. The medication I take is a neuro-blocker and once you've cut down on it, it tends to affect your memory very adversely, not to mention, cause your pain to sharply increase. That's exactly what it has done. I'm losing weight, getting little rest, trying as best I can to eat, and when I do, keep the food in my stomach where it belongs. Graphic enough? I'm sorry, don't mean to be, just trying to let you know what's going on. Needless to say, I can barely walk, spending almost all of my time either in bed, or when I'm up, in a wheelchair. I do little walking now because the pain has increased to the point of making it nearly impossible to do so. But, you know what? Life is supposed to be full of bumps in the road, right? If it weren't, can you imagine how dull it would be? I'll take the bumps, just hope there aren't any sink holes up ahead. LOL  My thanks and best to each of you. May God richly bless you all. |

Michael, I had been missing you, your poetry, and your wonderful replies---and now I know why I haven't been seeing your sweet face! You have been enduring the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune! I join the rest of your PiP friends in prayers for a complete recovery--and pronto! We do not want you suffering any longer. Being an artist makes one even more sensitive to stress, negativity, pain and illness. Your sensitivity is a double-edged sword for it also helps you create great works of art and poetry. The last two days have been better, the nausea passing for now, but my memory is still giving me quite a problem. It's mainly my short term memory, a side effect of drastically cutting back on the meds for pain to help the ulcer to heal. I spent the whole day in bed and was actually able to write a poem. Not one of my best, but a tribute to a most dear friend and they don't come any better than her. I often repeat myself because I can't remember that I've already said something.  Nope, it's NOT Alzheimers, just cutting back on my meds so sharply that is causing it. It'll pass, given enough time.I want you all to know just how very much I appreciate your kind words and prayers. I'm not sure there's another place on the internet where true kindness flows so freely. You're a great bunch! My sincere thanks to each of you. I couldn't ask for more special friends than all of you. You're the best! Thank you! |
