Hi everyone,

I just received this message in my e-mail and am hoping that if you or anyone you know has Spina Bifida you will pass this information on to them as soon as possible. For people with latex allergies this is a very very serious issue. Not one of us would ever consider a mailing from the National Association for Spina Bifida to be a health risk. This applies only to persons wirh Spina Bifida living in the US and members of the Spina Bifida Association of America. I would encourage anyone in the US that knows someone with Spina Bifida to share this info with them though as one never knows when someone may have registered with SBAA and may get this mailing.

IF THERE ARE MEMBERS IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD WITH LATEX
SENSITVITY DO NOT OPEN A MAILING FROM SBAA MARKED
“PLEASE DO WHAT YOU CAN!”  This particular Friends and
Family fundraising appeal package MAY contain a rubber
band and is hazardous to those with latex allergies.

SBAA offers its sincere apologies for this unfortunate
situation.  The direct mail supplier that created the
piece inadvertently included rubber bands on the
envelopes.  SBAA is aware of the serious nature of
latex allergies and the supplier will be dealt with
concerning this error.

A substitute mailing package will be sent to you later
and will be marked “Latex Free’ on the outer envelope.

Please pass this information on to all of your members
as quickly as possible.  We will help in any way that
we can.
