Our delightful Poet deVine was recently interviewed by her company newsletter about her equally delightful web site ( http://poetdevine.com ). The issue will be out just before Christmas and circulated to roughly 2,000 employees across the nation - and I'm sure they are going to be pleased as punch to discover the talent they have hidden in their midst. Congratulations, PdV!

And with that hearty congratulations, I'll also add a Thank You, too. Seems the effervescent Ms. deVine can't say "poetry" and "web" in the same sentence without quickly adding "Passions" right behind it.   Yep, she mentioned us, too.

So those 2,000 employees will not only discover how talented Poet deVine is, but also how much she's really appreciated around here.

Thank you Ron, for this announcement, and thank you all for your kind words. In truth, it was my idea to do a series of stories in our newsletter about the employees websites. I was pleased that they decided to begin with mine!

The reporter sat down with me and we began to talk, first about poetry and my love for writing. Then she asked me about my web page, how I designed it, etc. Then she asked me how the internet has changed my life.

Well! Let me tell you, I couldn't say the words fast enough (she at one point said she wished she'd brought a tape recorder!). I jumped from the time I first posted (over a year ago!) to the forum, back to the poets, to the forum, back to the main site...well you get the picture. I told her I've made some wonderful friends from all over the world. I told her we are a diverse group of people brought together by a love of poetry and a need to share our feelings.  I showed her Passions in Poetry (I never got around to showing her my site - she'll look at that later and maybe do some screen prints for the newsletter).

She asked me if I have a favorite poem. I told her that the "Poet's Prayer" was very special to me so I think she'll print that one. I'm going to ask her to send me a copy of the story electronically so I can post some excerpts.

After an hour, she escaped! So that is the story of my story! (BTW, it's 2000 employees world wide, we are an international company. And the newsletter is sent to various places to compete with other company newsletters so I would suspect, we may have a circulation of 2500!)

I'm so excited to bring the spotlight to Passions in Poetry! Everyone here is so dedicated and passionate!

Lady deVine, having been gone much of the day I must apologize for not having seen this sooner.

I for one am indeed proud of you for your  accomplishments at work and for Passions. I take pride in knowing you and in knowing of your devotion to poetry and Passions.

Congratulations indeed dear lady.

Again, thank you all! The time draws near for publication and I'm very nervous. While my immediate department and a few previous coworkers know what I do when I'm not working, this will be an eyeopener for a lot of people! Luckily, the publication may come when I'm on vacation over the holidays and I'll miss the amazed stares! When I say "I write poetry" I usually get a blank look and "you do?" Poets are rare it seems! That's why I'm so glad I found Passions and all of you - a community that understands! Thank you my friends.
