Abraham Lincoln ~ his ability to utlize common sense in nonsensical situations still astounds me. Which living person do you most admire? My mother On what occasion do you lie? When the betterment for the whole is at stake. What do you dislike most about your appearance? My waste line, I am trying to keep it at a 32, but it is getting harder with age and I seem to have lost it to 33. What is your greatest regret? That I didn't persue my education at an earlier age. Which living person do you most despise? Bill Clinton What or who is the greatest love of your life? My family When and where were you happiest? When I am drunk at the bar, seriously though...when I am learning something new. Which talent would you like to have? a singing voice If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be? That I didn't separate my two children by 8 years. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Earning a BS while succeeding at work and raising a family all at the same time. If you could choose what to come, back as, what would it be? Hmmmmmm.. lets see.. What is your idea of perfect happiness? Living with the man I love. All my loved ones safe and healthy. On what occasion do you lie? I usually try not to.. but for little things sometimes I do. If a friend has a new haircut, and is really self conscious about it, I will say it looks ok.. even if I despise it. What do you dislike most about your appearance? Hmmmm... I'd have to say my weight. I have a long way to go in that area. What is your greatest regret? There are so many. Some of them to personal. One example I can give though is not giving my stepmother more of a chance. She is gone now and there was alot of time wasted with needless fighting. Which living person do you most despise? I would have to say my exboss Jane. I see red when I hear the name Jane  What or who is the greatest love of your life? David and writing. When and where were you happiest? When I was little I used to spend weeks on end at my great grandmothers house in the summer time. I always felt so loved and safe. Nothing bad could ever happen. I long for that security back. Which talent would you like to have? I always wanted to be able to sing. If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be? There is alot here. More than I can get into. For starters, making unconditional love a must. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Ok, this is going to sound strange, but survivng the 9th grade, better known as my black year. It was a real bad time. If you could choose what to come, back as, what would it be? A white tiger, just cause I love them, they are beautiful. What is your most treasured possession? (kids don't count) A china teapot I got when my great gramma passed away. You can wind it up and it plays Tea For Two. I remember sitting in her kitchen when she'd be washing dishes. She'd wind it up and sing to me. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? For me, the lowest time was in 9th grade, as I mentioned. I'm not sure if that was what you wanted to know or not. Where would you like to live? Texas  What is the quality you most like in a man? It's a tie, honesty and a sense of humor  What is the quality you most like in a woman? Same thing. All my friends are trust worthy and funny. What do you value most in a friend? Honesty, understanding, loyality, and humor. What are your favorite names? Elizabeth Rose and Zachary Alexander. My future children. Hopefully. I suppose Dave will have a say in that. *chuckles* What is it that you most dislike? Hmm.... I'm not sure. Lying. That is what first came to mind. What is your motto? Live and let live. What is the trait you most deplore in others? Spitefullness What do you like most about your appearance? My hair! What is your most marked characteristic? Humor. Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Well hell I use alot. I don't know if I can actually say that here.. LOL .. but it is the cleanest example I have lol. Which historical figure can you most identify with? Niccolo Machiavelli. he was as cynical as they come... gee, could that be me? just a little? heh. Which living person do you most admire? another easy one - my little brother. i don't know anyone smarter or tougher anywhere. On what occasion do you lie? i don't. granted, sometimes that bruises feelings, but i find that it's better to be thought honest and insensitive than sweet, kind, and untrustworthy. What do you dislike most about your appearance? i'm too fat. What is your greatest regret? regret requires that you think you made a mistake. i think that our decisions and the things that happen to us do so for a reason - besides which, even if you want to, you can't go back and change things that have already happened. i try to look forward, not back. Which living person do you most despise? less a person than a group - hypocrites. i don't really care what you believe - that's your business - but don't say one thing and do another. that's reprehensible. What or who is the greatest love of your life? Tara, immediately followed by things that go "ping!" When and where were you happiest? right now, right here - wherever i am i am the happiest that i can be while i'm there. Which talent would you like to have? you mean i don't already? If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be? make them go away? except for my brother and his wife, they're cool. Who are your heroes in real life? randy shugart and gary gordon - you may have seen their story in Black Hawk Down. irl, they held off over 500 armed somalis by themselves for over an hour in an attempt to protect a downed helicopter pilot. they inserted on the mission knowing that there was virtually no chance of being evacuated, and although they were killed, they left over 100 dead somalis on the field of battle - over 50 to one. they were posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor - which was richly deserved. What are your favorite names? don't really have any - but Tara and i are gonna have to talk about this "Zachary" thing... What is it that you most dislike? Lies. What is your motto? "forgiveness." in my book, there are two kinds of things that people do wrong - either they make honest mistakes, or they deliberately try to hurt you. a mistake is irrelevant, and doesn't need forgiving, and forgiving someone who is being deliberately evil? well, it sure worked for Neville Chamberlain in the 1930's, now didn't it? What is your most marked characteristic? total unwillingness to put up with lies, games, and BS. What is your favorite journey? the journey from where i am to where i'm going. Just did the other one, so some of these may cross over. What is your idea of perfect happiness? - No such thing. Perfect is an ill-used, misunderstood word. Really, I think perfect equals boring. Heaven is supposed to be perfect - an unchanging space with no room to grow...no thanks. I'll just take happiness as a state that has its hurdles. Honestly - right now, getting my career on track and maybe thinking about 'settling' down. As settled as I will be anyway. Oh no, I've started rambling. Which historical figure can you most identify with? -Katherine Mansfield. (NZ writer in the early part of the 20th century who struggled to find herself, and her career, and her place in the literary world, mostly in London). Which living person do you most admire? - My admiration doesn't come easily, sigh - I only become close to people I admire - so, you know who you are. No one famous...I don't know them. On what occasion do you lie? -Strictly a situation-based thing. I didn't tell the whole truth to my ex on occasion because it probably would've given him a hernia. What do you dislike most about your appearance? - I don't look like Liv Tyler. Dammit. What is your greatest regret? -hmmm...I have several. The greatest? Lauren – you DO have incredibly YUMMY lips!  What is your idea of perfect happiness? I have to go along with K on this one. “Perfect Happiness” is an oxymoron in my book. I could quote you a lot of stereotypical ideas, but I know in my heart the truth – no matter where I am, I will want more; to be more, have more (knowledge, growth, etc., not money), and to find the next challenge. without that, there is no purpose to life. Which historical figure can you most identify with? Dante? No, seriously, I would have to say I have no idea. History has never been my strong suit. Which living person do you most admire? (Do you have any easy questions in here?) I admire anyone who can maintain hope and strength in the face of adversity while maintaining a sense of humor. to be able to stand tall and fight the forces at work in your life despite how much it throws at you is something worthy of admiration. On what occasion do you lie? On the occasion that it’s necessary? No, really – I have too poor of a memory to lie. I’d get caught out too easily. What do you dislike most about your appearance? I think I’m too skinny. What is your greatest regret? There are a few true regrets in my life, but they all center around the idea of me growing (up, haha) so I can’t really call them regrets since I learned from them. I would not be who I am were they to not have occurred. Which living person do you most despise? Again – people who are the inverse of those I admire: people who wallow in themselves for an extended period of time (hey, we all have to wallow sometimes) and use life as an excuse not to live. What or who is the greatest love of your life? I’ll go for the safe answer and respond to the ‘what’ portion of this question: writing. period. When and where were you happiest? I can’t define a ‘happiest’ time in my life. there have been many scattered places/events/times when I’ve been very happy. but I can’t judge one against the other, because they’re all special. Which talent would you like to have? I’m with the majority here – I would have LOVED to have been a singer as well as a writer! But… uhmm.. the shower is about the only place I’ll be famous in that arena. If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be? the drama, the maneuvering, the almost political byplays for attention, rally points, etc. it’s like a constant soap opera (which explains why I don’t hang out with my family much) What do you consider your greatest achievement? Again, have to say living to see 28. If you could choose what to come, back as, what would it be? Me. I’m ok with that. Of course a few superpowers would be nice… What is your most treasured possession? (kids don't count) My mind, my imagination. All the physical possessions: “stuff ‘n things” – not worth caring about really. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? depression. it is obviously a lot more complicated than that, but it’s taken me ten years of experience to understand it even as well as I do, so I’ll leave it at the short version. Though I typically never lie, I would lie had someone been unfair to someone who is innocent and report it to someone to justify the innocent ones needs (would that count, LOL) What do you dislike most about your appearance? I regret that all of my youth is tarnished by abuse, and I wish I could make it much more easier to find the child in me and feel free with myself and not always wish for happiness from others What is your greatest regret? Though I don't necessarily hate anyone but rather pity all who shame themselves in evil purposes, I'd have to say Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein What or who is the greatest love of your life? What is your idea of perfect happiness? Does anyone know the answer to this? But since I was asked with such short notice, I'd say Tagalong girl scout cookies Which historical figure can you most identify with? Marilyn Monroe, everyone thought she was so perfect, so secure, so happy...in reality, she was none of that. Which living person do you most admire? On what occasion do you lie? On the occasion where it does no good to tell the truth, where no one wins because of it. "Does my new haircut look okay?" YES... because there is nothing they can do to fix it, and it will just hurt their feelings. OR on the occasion that you need to protect your family. What do you dislike most about your appearance? What is your greatest regret? So, so many. YET, I'm working on the whole "regret nothing- it happened for a reason" bit. Which living person do you most despise? Hmmm... that changes daily. What or who is the greatest love of your life? Oy. This is a hard one. I'm still in the process of "finding myself" so we'll see. When and where were you happiest?
