Due to the amount of E mails that I have been getting....
I thought I'd post this for those concerned.

I AM OK!!! And Thank you for your concerns!! Hug to you
House is ok, family is OK......Just a few broken items and slight
rearranging of my house.

I know this is no big thing for those of you in California........BUT........
We had an earthquake here yesterday at 10:55 AM.

I was at work when our office was jolted,.......then it began.

Of the whole four earthquakes that I have been through here in Seatlle area.....
none of them were like this one was.
I felt as though someone was pushing back and forth on our building.
And to make it worse....it lasted for ever. 45 seconds in fact.
And the magnitude was 6.8. YIKES!!!

We don't get much of anything here in the area. Just rain.....
and even at that, were 6" below normal right now.

I'm glad you and your family are okay, Irie. I was wondering how our PIPer's in Washington were doing. To date,in my lifetime anyway, we have only had 2 or 3 minor earthquakes in my area, and I slept through them. I vaguely remember one of them when things were 'jumping' on my bureau and dresser. It must be horrifying to go through a big one like the one you had. Again, glad you are okay!

Jumping in here to say thank God that all of you are safe.

I heard from Dale and Rosemary Gwaltney -
they were quite shaken about,
but they, and the house came through in good shape.

Prayers for all are sent.

I'm glad you're okay, and that a few others are okay. I read briefly about it while I had a few minutes at work this morning. Geesh..Tornadoes, earthquakes...hmm..what else is it time for? Laters and love everyone!

I'm glad you're all right Irie... I know this was a pretty intense quake... Here's hoping the rest of our northwest family has been equally unscathed..

My husband and I always talk about retiring in Portland Oregon. We've never been in that area but just by pictures and such we thought it was the place for us. Now I have reconsidered and will stay on the Texas coast. We do have our hurricanes but at least we know where they are and a 72-hr notice to seek shelter if it’s close to us.
Glad that this earthquake was not a major killer but who knows when the next one hits
what it will do.

Now is as good a time as any for a short story [Christopher....hush]....years [and years] ago we moved to Battle Creek due to a company transfer...while staying at the local Holiday Inn on a house hunt, we were on the second floor. Mate was in a chair, reading the newspaper, and I was on the bed, watching TV news....and I felt this....movement....[looked to the left and right and didn't find any funny machinery lurking around] and said "we've just had an earthquake..." [and coming from CA...I should know!]

My mate of three months looked at me like I was nuts....told me I was nuts....and moments later the newsman said "Michigan [read Battle Creek area] just had an earthquake...."

tada! Validation!

Glad to know you are OK....better yet to know that with that magnitude, no deaths whatsoever!

Many, many warm thanks to ALL of you!

I didn't realize there we so many of us here, in this neck
of the woods.
Again....Thank you for your concerns.....

The same man that predicted this quake, and the India quake, has predicted another one.
Normally this wouldn't bother me so much.
BUT......
Ten out of the Eleven he has predicted have hit.
What's scarier than that, this one to come he says will
arrive with a magnitude of 9.
I hope this makes Ten out of twelve....
I really hope he's wrong!
