a chiseled chihuahua
rides on the dash    on the
   felt lookout
for some needed cash
euthenics
in my chewable thoughts
my scratchy head     and
   all those things you said
you got all those charms
on your side    a phonograph
of your little laugh
plays in the dark corner
at last
a feldspar fedora covers up
my oily head
after I roll out of bed

Unique imagery... "scratchy head," etc. ( although, I don't know what "euthenics" means.) Enjoy your work! Grover.

"eu·then·ics    n. (used with a sing. verb)
The study of the improvement of human functioning and well-being by improvement of living conditions."

from dictionary.com

the phrase 'some needed cash' amde me think of needing drug money. Other phrases -chewable thoughts, scratchy head- seem to indicate a drugged state of mind.

As for the title... ?? I am reminded of Requiem for a Dream, where the Jared Leto character is constantly pressured by Jennifer Connelly's character to go out and score, because she needs the junk...

Am I completely off-track?

"for some needed cash"

I'm not really liking this phrase here.  It seems very forced to me.  The "dash-cash" thing isn't getting to me...
