Magic is something we all encouter in life,
the kind of magic that cuts our souls like a knife.
This kind of magic is strange, pure,& mysterious.
It makes us all feel a little bit delirious =]
I don't mean the magic of sorceres, witches or magicians.
I mean the kind of magic we feel in certain conditions.
As when storm clouds fill the sky
& raindrops fall as if diamonds to our eyes,
they plunge & dive into the murk of any scum ridden pond,
& make the surface sparkle like gemstones donned.
The elation we feel when beholding something beautiful as that,
or when gazing into the eyes of a loved one, whether it be brother, sister, lover, friend,or cat =]
All these things are precious & dear to our hearts.
We must all pay attention to life's littlest parts.
Life's gifts are abundant, but rarely payed attention to,
the ones we notice are magical, but few.

I agree swampy. Magic abounds and surrounds, we just need to look. Your poem will remind all those who read it to see what they are missing.

May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out.

Wonderful poem.
I like the magic in simple things too, but do you really think it's magic--or was it planned that way?

David Copperfield may be good
Breath-taking, death-defying stunts his magic gift
But i still prefer the glow of warming sunshine that beckons my day
The start of sheer moments of magic life has to offer me

i enjoyed reading your poem and i think you have met the challenge very well
