Floating gently on a cloud....

Tranquility Challenge

Riding the trails on my favorite horse,
The sun beating down upon us.
Life’s cycle going on all round,
No one around to make a fuss.

I ride for hours and hours
With just my mare for company.
There’s wildlife  to either side,
No lack of things to see.
We walk through a family of Warthog,
A herd of Impala grazing nearby.
I am one with the peace of nature,
A place blissfully void of lies.

Serenity and pleasure fill my soul,
Here is the tranquility that makes me whole.

This is a beautiful place you paint, Lizzie.

Impala? We just have ordinary mule dear where I live. Where do you live--Africa? Sounds beautiful!

Thanks for the positive replies, everybody!!
Gene-Yeah, I live in Southern Africa, in a very small country with no lilacs or dogwoods!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Oh! Now I know why you never saw a lilac!
I loved this poem, Lizzie, and it does sound like true tranquility. I am imagining what the landscape looks like, but I probably don't know the names of any of the flowers or shrubery there. I thought you were probably from California.
This poem does have a very serene air about it
Well done challenge
Love
Liz

I always wanted to ride a horse, I feel like I have now. Thank you.

Oh do I remember the days of horseback riding, how delightful to just ride so free. I was no expert...LOL Far from it, one time we went to ride at this place and they ask how experienced you are well this was only my third time riding. Somehow they messed up and put me on an experienced horse, he was the most beautiful one of all he stood the tallest, beautiful reddish tone, I fell in love from the parking lot. I had that one in my mind the whole time and when I got to ride him I was in heaven until he started following this other horse taking a shortcut through the woods and the trees looked awful close we were scrapping by, I was scared but it was a fun scared where doing it again would be a delight.

Thanks for bringing me to this wonderful memory, makes me want to go ride right now

You met the challenge just right.

Oooh,i'm glad i didn't miss this... when i was young, one of my dreams was to ride on a handsome horse and gallop wildly across lush green pastures, with a rope in my hand and shouting battle cries...unfortunately,i never got to learn how to ride

it brought some sweet memories of my childhood...thx
