Tranquility, though small the piece may be
Amidst the urban chaos, it is mine;
A deed so states; this is my property
My privacy is closely kept by pine,
A fence that lets me view the clouds and sky
And tips of houses, nothing more or less;
A juniper is home for friends that fly;
This is my favorite place, I must confess;
Gazeboes, tiny, hang upon each post
Awaiting bright new flowers come the Spring
The season of the four I love the most;
Rebirth begins and causes me to sing
Reminding me that death is not the end
But lends itself again to life anew
It is a truth on which I can depend
To part the clouds and bid the gloom adieu.

For all life’s clamor I have found the cure;
It waits for me outside my garden door.

Your garden sounds lovely!! I too love going into the garden to find peace and serenity. Beautiful poem and such a good response to L.D.'s challenge!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Denise, You could not have posted a better poem for the challenge, my all time favorite of yours, and I will come see your garden one day soon while it is in full bloom, and the sun shining bright and every moment a blessing of tranquility.

This is absolutely beautiful Denise. This left me with such a feeling of peace and contentment. Do you mind if I print this one?

Beautiful words transported me swiftly to a beautiful and tranquil idyl. Thank you. I shall save this one for my moments of chaos and use it as a place of safety

Thanks for your kind words, Kaile! I'm glad I was able to share with you the pleasure of my garden. It's very small, my block is not much more than a block of flats, but it's mine and it is very lovely and private.

Your garden sounds like the most splendid place to sit, and, like it provides a lot of inspiration.  For those of us who don't exactly have a green thumb, we end up sitting at the park, far less beautiful, and full of screaming little kids!
