My Grandpa died a few years before I was born, and he was very close to my Mom, and so, I have always wondered if he's looking down on me, what he would say to me if he ever met me, and how he would feel to have me as his grand child.

A LETTER FROM HEAVEN

Dear Granddaughter,
you will never see my face,
or know the warmth of my embrace,
for I have already left this earth
just mere years before your birth

But, little Melissa,
please remember this,
although upon your sweet cheek, you'll never feel my kiss,
you have a Grandpa in Heaven above,
who's looking down on you with pride and much love

It's true that you'll never be with me to hear
all the wisdoms that I'd whisper in your ear,
but, know that my Laurie Dorie will take good care of you,
and tell you all the stories of your Grandpa to see you through

And so, when years upon your face are worn,
and you have a grandchild to be born,
only then, my Melissa, will you begin
to know the joy that I feel within

I love you,
Grandpappy Wilf

Melissa-

If you ask your grandpa, "Are you proud of me?"
And look up to the sky
And see a cloud move a bit
Or the sun seem to wink it's eye,
you'll know he's up there looking down
And what's more
There's your answer
Hidden in the sun and clouds!

Very heartfelt sentiments.

Kaile - Thank you for writing such a touching haiku for me!

Joy 14 - That is so sweet to write, thanks
Everytime that I see clouds move, I will now think of my Grandpa and what you have said
