Fair Daffodil

'Tis true the tulip and the rose
Resplendent beauty do impose
But once they're picked do quickly wilt
And soon as not return to silt.
The daffodil refracts the sun
With bounteous eyes on every one.
The secret of Fair Daffodil
She's stalwartly perennial.

She'll greet the vernal sun each year
With wisdom and eternal cheer....

Absolutely beautiful. If this is #1, I assume there are more?

Very well put... Beautiful  and I'll keep my eyes open for more....*smiles*

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND

Irish Blessing

Thank you, my friends... "#1" is actually Passions' own language, meaning it's a repost from Open Poetry #1...

Interestingly, I wrote this last year.. In reading it again, it occurs to me that tulips and roses are perennials as well.. Maybe I should change those to some sort of annuals...

Very Springy, Nan! Yep, the tulip and rose are also perennials. I'm not too familiar with annuals but I think impatiens (sp?) and marigolds have to be planted every year. I can't think of anything else....maybe Martie could help you with this.....she has a flower shop, I believe! If anyone knows she would!

Thanks guys, spring has sprung on Cape Cod...

Denise - LOL - Well, you spelled impatiens correctly - but what rhymes with "impose" other than "rose".... hmmm...

...petunia...peony...pansy... maybe we could water the daffodils with our pansy hose... um... nope - This might need a whole new rewrite....hehe..
