I Love Poets I love poets and poetry They’re just so much a part of me Other folks may not agree They’re good enough for me I love poets of every kind They’re kindred folk of soul and mind No matter what they write, I find They’re good enough for me Some poems aren’t great, but full of dreams And they’re not Poe by any means If written from the heart, it seems They’re wonderful to me Some poems are too abstract for me They’re really not my cup of tea But he who wrote the poetry Is a bosom friend to me Poets have no scheme or goal Except expression of the soul They are like brothers as a whole They all are family Poets tenderly convey In verses what they have to say They see life in a different way And that’s good enough for me Elizabeth Santos |
